Biere de Liase

Bière de Garde

Some Nerve Brewing Company and Boulder Jct. Brewing Co. have had a special relationship for many years. As Ian and Tracy started to conceive of and plan out their brewery, they went to Jessica and Bill for guidance and assistance, and they were more than generous in sharing their experiences and information.   Now they are set to retire from the brewing industry and pass the Some Nerve torch on to Joe and Adrea to continue – and build upon – what they started. The six of us decided to brew a Bière de Garde together and call it “Bière de Liase” signifying the bridge between the two breweries, symbolizing the support that has been given in the past and all the future support we will continue to give each other. Thank you, Bill and Jessica, and welcome Joe and Adrea!

Bière de Garde is an ale known for its versatility and beautiful range of colors from golden to amber. The name literally means “beer of keeping.” and was historically brewed by farmers in northern France in their off season who would store some for consumption during the summer months when they were too busy to brew. Our Bière de Liase features a rich amber color and notes of toffee and caramel. The bready malt body is balanced well by mild herbal notes from German Hallertau MIttelfrüh hops.
