Drawing of a foot and the text barefoot dean porter

Barefoot Dean Porter

English Porter rich in caramel, chocolate, and toffee flavors with a balanced bitterness, medium body and smooth mouthfeel.

Porter “Barefoot” Dean of Boulder Junction was among the best walleye guides of all time, known for his characteristic bare feet (he rarely donned footwear whether guiding or snowshoeing), and the outstanding shore lunches he prepared. Northwoods author Tom Hollatz, stated that what makes Porter Dean really special was that Dean “was loved for a friendliness that set the tone for the whole village.”  His character is much like that of an English Porter Ale originating in the 18th century and named as such for its popularity with the working class “porters” of the time.  This beer is rich in caramel, chocolate, and toffee flavors with a balanced bitterness, medium body and smooth mouthfeel.
